CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: Swachh Bharat Mission: Chhattisgarh’s work in waste management has been praised in a CSE report.
Efforts being made in Chhattisgarh for waste management under the Swachh Bharat Mission have been praised in a report by the Center for Science and Environment (CSE). According to the report, better work is being done in the state from the segregation of waste to its disposal. These efforts toward solid waste management are considered important in making the sanitation system more effective. Segregating waste at source is an important step in waste management. It helps ensure proper disposal of wet and dry waste and increases the possibilities of recycling useful materials. Systematic segregation can also help reduce the quantity of waste reaching landfills.
Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, emphasis is placed on strengthening sanitation facilities in urban and rural areas as well as on the scientific management of waste. The role of local bodies is important for this. Waste collection, segregation, processing and safe disposal are key parts of the entire system.
The mention of Chhattisgarh’s efforts in the CSE report is being considered significant with regard to the waste management system in the state. However, to sustain the long-term impact of these efforts, regular monitoring, public participation and strengthening of waste processing facilities will be necessary.
To further improve the sanitation system in the state, it is important to keep the process of waste segregation and scientific disposal consistently effective.
