CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Today is the last opportunity to apply for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test, CTET 2026, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The board had reopened the application window from August 25 to September 1, 2026, giving eligible candidates who could not apply earlier another chance.
Candidates can complete the application process today by visiting the official CTET website and filling out the online form. According to CBSE, candidates who have already applied successfully do not need to apply again.
Why was the application window reopened?
CBSE decided to reopen the CTET application process in view of a recent Supreme Court decision. The board decided to give eligible candidates an additional opportunity to obtain the mandatory qualification of the teacher eligibility test.
New CTET exam date not yet released
The CTET 2026 examination was earlier proposed for September 6, 2026, but CBSE has postponed it. The revised examination date has not yet been announced. Candidates have been advised to keep checking CBSE’s official website for updates related to the new date and admit cards.
When were applications accepted earlier?
The regular application process for CTET 2026 ran from May 11 to June 10, 2026. The reopened window is the final opportunity for eligible candidates who could not apply during that period.
