CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of World Postal Day, the Indian Postal Department celebrates National Postal Week every year. This year, the National Postal Week was inaugurated with a “Customer Conference” (Customer Meet) organized at the Shankar Dayal Sharma Auditorium of the Circle Office on Mails and Parcels Day.
The chief guest of the event was Vineet Mathur, Chief Postmaster General of Madhya Pradesh Postal Circle, and the distinguished guests were Shahnawaz Alam, General Manager (Finance), and Pawan Kumar Dalmia, Director of Postal Services (Headquarters Region), Circle Office, Bhopal.
A large number of prominent customers from the city of Bhopal attended the event, shared their thoughts and suggestions, and appreciated the new services of the Postal Department. In his address, the chief guest spoke about the public utility citizen-centered services provided by the Postal Department, such as parcels, speed post, small savings schemes, Aadhaar centers, passport service centers, and postal export centers, which have been upgraded with new technology. He also highlighted the usefulness of the Post Office Export Centers for export customers sending materials abroad, praising these centers.
During the event, an interactive session was organized for all contracted customers. In this session, IS Maravi, a representative from the major customer LIC MASH, praised the services of the Postal Department. Additionally, Varun Chaudhary, a representative from the Regional Passport Office in Bhopal, shared that approximately 1,000 passports are sent daily through speed post from their office, with no complaints received to date. Other esteemed customers also praised the services provided by the Postal Department and offered valuable suggestions to further improve these services.
During the program, the winners of the International Letter Writing Competition 2024, organized by the UPU, were awarded. Sakshi Sharma from Morena district, the first-place winner, received a cash prize of ₹25,000 and a certificate of appreciation. The second-place winner, Aniket Pandey from Bhopal district, received ₹10,000 in cash and a certificate, while the third-place winner, Nishant Dubey from Rewa district, received ₹5,000 in cash and a certificate.
