CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A workshop on Girl Child Safety and Cybercrime Awareness was organized at the Oriental Institute of Science & Technology, Bhopal, by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (AIML) in collaboration with the Joint Divisional Director, Women & Child Development Department, Bhopal Division.
During the program, students of the institute attended a lecture on cybercrime awareness in the current digital era delivered by Varun Kapoor, IPS, Director General of Prisons, Madhya Pradesh Police, Bhopal. Kapoor engaged students in a highly interactive and interesting manner, explaining the types of cybercrimes, preventive measures, and guidelines for safe use of digital platforms. He also emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant and cautious during online activities.

The event was attended by Joint Director Naki Jahan Quraishi, Project Officer Mridul Malviya, Dharmendra Agrawal, Archana Bajpai, and all supervisors from the department. Also present were Gaurav Thakral, Chancellor of Oriental University and Vice-Chairman of Oriental Group of Institutes, and Rajesh K. Shukla, Director of Oriental Institute of Science & Technology.
During the workshop, students who correctly answered Kapoor’s questions—Arjita, Tanvi, and Vibhansh—were honored with golden badges and certificates.
The workshop proved to be a significant initiative in raising cybersecurity awareness among students and promoting the safe use of digital media.
