CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: D-Mart, among the country’s leading retail chains, has reported growth in its financial performance in the second quarter. The company’s profit rose 8.5 percent to Rs 743 crore, while revenue increased 18 percent during the period. Continuing its business expansion, the company also opened 18 new stores across the country. With this, the total number of D-Mart stores has increased to 518.

Revenue growth strengthens business

The 18 percent rise in revenue in the second quarter reflects growth in the company’s sales. Through its stores, D-Mart offers customers daily essentials, food products, household items and other consumer products. The company’s business is primarily based on retail sales. Its strategy of offering goods at competitive prices has given it an important position in the retail market.

Costs also increase

According to the company’s financial figures, Avenue Supermarts’ consolidated revenue from operations rose 17.8 percent to Rs 19,644 crore in the July-September 2026 quarter. It stood at Rs 16,676.30 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year. The company’s total expenses rose 18.3 percent to Rs 18,632.70 crore.

Store network expansion

D-Mart has focused on opening new stores to expand its retail business. By the end of September 2026, the company’s total number of stores had reached 518. During the quarter, 15 new stores were added. The company is expanding its reach to customers through its strategy of offering daily-need products at competitive prices.
