CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress / Bhopal: The birth anniversary of Dada Makhanlal Chaturvedi was celebrated at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication. On this occasion, a lecture was organized at Swami Vivekananda Auditorium of Vikramshila Campus of Makhanpuram Campus, Bishankhedi. The lecture was presided over by Vice Chancellor K.G. Suresh did. The keynote speaker was former senior IAS officer and litterateur Manoj Srivastava. On the occasion of his birth anniversary, Devarshi Narad Bharatiya Gyan Khand and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Krirangan II were also inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Suresh.

Presiding over the lecture, Vice Chancellor Prof. Suresh said that Dada Makhanlal is our inspiration. “To keep Dada’s memory alive, we named the community radio station after the newspaper Karamveer brought out by him. Pro. Suresh said that wherever he has lived from Dada’s childhood to youth and in his last moments, the documentary film will be made in those places including Babai (Makhannagar), Narmadapuram, Khandwa, Bhopal etc.

He said Mahatma Gandhi had called Dada an Indian soul. Pro. Suresh said that in order to take forward the Indian knowledge tradition, the Department of Indian Language is going to start a diploma course in Sindhi language from the upcoming session, along with a diploma course in Marathi language next year. While inaugurating the Devarshi Narada Bharatiya Gyan Khand, he said that there are other texts available from Devarshi Narada in the Indian knowledge tradition.

The main speaker former senior IAS officer and litterateur Manoj Shrivastava said that Dada was a virtuous writer. He also made a special mention of the Ratauna movement of Sagar, in which a big slaughterhouse of the country was being opened. While two lakh cows were slaughtered every year, Dada Makhanlal Chaturvedi’s sharp journalism did not allow it to be made. The lecture was conducted by Vishakha Rajurkar and vote of thanks was presented by Rakhi Tiwari, Head of the Department of Indian Languages. Introduction Prof. Laid by Shivakumar Vivek.
