Collaboration with National Dairy Development Board to Transform Rural Economy
The Madhya Pradesh government has taken a significant step to strengthen the rural economy by boosting milk production and doubling the income of dairy farmers. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, a cooperative agreement has been signed between the MP State Cooperative Dairy Federation Limited and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). This initiative aims to position Madhya Pradesh as the “Dairy Capital” of India while uplifting the lives of dairy farmers across the state.
Expanding Dairy Network at the Grassroots Level
As part of the plan, every gram panchayat will have a dairy collection center, increasing the number of dairy cooperative societies from 6,000 to 9,000. This will enable coverage of approximately 18,000 villages, boosting milk collection from the current 10.5 lakh kilograms per day to an impressive 20 lakh kilograms per day.
Sanchi Brand to Gain National Recognition
Madhya Pradesh’s renowned “Sanchi” brand will now receive a significant push at the national level. NDDB will support the promotion of Sanchi, ensuring its reach extends beyond the state. The processing capacity of dairy plants will be expanded from the current 18 lakh liters per day to 30 lakh liters per day, further solidifying Sanchi’s market presence while retaining its original identity.
A New Chapter in the White Revolution
The government has committed ₹2,500 crore to expand milk coolers, mini dairy plants, and chilling centers under the White Revolution Mission. This initiative will provide economic strength to dairy farmers and transform the dairy sector into a robust economic contributor for the state.
Ensuring Fair Returns for Dairy Farmers
The agreement guarantees fair prices for dairy farmers and ensures the development of an efficient grievance redressal system for dairy cooperative members. The government has also announced subsidies for rearing milch animals and bonuses for increased milk production, ensuring the welfare and prosperity of dairy farmers.
Special Focus on Rural Development
In every block, one village will be developed as a “Vrindavan Village” to promote rural prosperity and livelihood. The state government has also launched initiatives for cattle preservation and milk production enhancement to further boost the rural economy.
Editorial Perspective:
This initiative by the Madhya Pradesh government not only promises prosperity for rural communities but also lays a strong foundation for making the state a leader in milk production. By doubling farmers’ income and establishing the Sanchi brand at a national level, this visionary plan is poised to bring a revolution in rural India. The government’s efforts align with the vision of a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh and contribute significantly to the larger goal of a self-reliant India.
