CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute and the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Bhopal, with the objective of linking the Indian knowledge tradition with technical and professional education.
The agreement was signed by Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute Director Mukesh Kumar Mishra and NITTTR Bhopal Director Chandra Charu Tripathi in the presence of senior officials and faculty members of both institutions. Under the agreement, curriculum and study material based on the Indian knowledge tradition, research, training, seminars and related activities will be promoted. Academic cooperation and exchange between the faculty and researchers of both institutions will also be encouraged.
Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute Director Mukesh Kumar Mishra said the Indian knowledge tradition has a rich legacy of coordination among knowledge, science, technology, nature and society. He said the agreement would help take forward knowledge-related discourse connected with the Indian knowledge tradition on a wider scale through research and education. Both institutions will work together towards research on various aspects of Indian knowledge and its academic use.
Prof. Tripathi said on the occasion that the collaboration between NITTTR Bhopal and DTSS is an important initiative towards the scientific study of the rich knowledge sources of the Indian knowledge tradition and their relevant use in modern technical education. He said it would provide teachers and researchers an opportunity to understand and develop various aspects of the Indian knowledge tradition in the context of contemporary science and technical education.
Dr. P.K. Purohit, head of the Indian Knowledge Tradition Department, said work would be undertaken through joint efforts to develop authentic and useful study material related to the Indian knowledge tradition and to make it available to students and teachers. Dr. Ramendra Singh, Prof. Alpana Trivedi, Dr. Sachin Tiwari and other officials and employees were present on the occasion.
