CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: For the past decade, the Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute, dedicated to research in Indian knowledge traditions, tribal and folk culture, humanities, and social sciences, has received recognition from the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for its division Dattopant Thengadi Institute of Cultural Studies as an Indian Knowledge Center. This recognition has been granted specifically for its role as a research center focused on Indian knowledge traditions.

Sharing this information, the institute’s Director, Dr. Mukesh Kumar Mishra, stated that the institute had submitted a proposal to the Government of India. After evaluation, the Ministry approved the proposal and recognized it as a research center along with 20 other selected institutions in the country.

It is noteworthy that the Dattopant Thengadi Institute of Cultural Studies is working to strengthen, institutionalize, and expand interdisciplinary research in Indian knowledge systems and cultural studies. Renowned academic scholars from across India are associated with the institute.

The institute is also organizing a National Research Scholars’ Conclave focused on research for India’s renaissance. Recently, educators from 25 states participated in this conclave.

Through high-level interdisciplinary studies, the institute is working on the revival and restoration of Indian knowledge systems in a contemporary context. It encourages both theoretical and applied research in social sciences, humanities, languages, culture, and indigenous knowledge systems. Additionally, the institute plays an active role in policy-making processes by providing intellectual support, analyzing developmental trends, and promoting socio-economic growth through result-oriented research.
