CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Starting November 1, 2026, the Delhi government will restrict the entry of goods vehicles that are not compliant with BS‑VI emission norms, or not running on clean fuels like CNG or electricity. This move is part of the Air Pollution Mitigation Action Plan 2026, unveiled by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, aimed at reducing vehicular emissions, congestion, and overall air pollution in the capital.

The plan is enforcement-driven and leverages technology such as ANPR cameras, digital tracking systems, and real-time monitoring to ensure compliance with the “No PUC, No Fuel” rule. During periods of severe pollution, additional measures like staggered office timings, work-from-home directives, and stricter vehicle restrictions may be implemented.

Delhi’s roadmap targets multiple pollution sources, including road dust, industrial discharge, biomass burning, and construction activities. The government is also expanding public transport, with plans to grow the bus fleet to 13,760 by 2028–29 and install 32,000 EV charging stations over the next four years. Smart traffic management, last-mile connectivity, and AI-based construction monitoring will further enhance pollution control efforts.

This comprehensive strategy underscores Delhi’s commitment to sustainable urban mobility, cleaner air, and improved public health outcomes.
