CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Delhi: The Delhi Metro Sarthi app has crossed the milestone of one crore downloads, emerging as a major digital platform for Metro commuters in the Delhi-NCR region. According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the app is opened around 8.2 lakh times every weekday and has recorded nearly 20 lakh views in Delhi-NCR in a month.
Sarthi brings several public transport services together on one platform, allowing commuters to access Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus services, train bookings through IRCTC, interstate bus bookings, NCRTC’s Namo Bharat and NMRC’s Noida Metro.
The app also provides Metro maps, first and last train timings, route guidance, parking information and details about station facilities. Information about electric vehicle charging stations and battery-swapping facilities is also available.
Beyond transport services, users can access facilities such as mobile recharge, medicine ordering, FASTag recharge and other utility payments. The platform also provides a virtual Metro card facility.
DMRC said the app is designed to reduce the need for commuters to switch between multiple platforms while planning and undertaking journeys. The initiative forms part of the corporation’s efforts to develop a connected and digital-first public transport ecosystem.
With Delhi-NCR facing significant pollution challenges during winter, DMRC has also encouraged commuters to use public transport and access Metro ticketing services through the Sarthi app.
