New Delhi: On the occasion of Diwali, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has changed metro service timings for Sunday, November 8, 2026. In view of the festival, the last train on all metro lines will depart from terminal stations at 10 pm instead of 11 pm. This arrangement will also apply to the Airport Express Line. Passengers travelling by metro in the evening will therefore need to plan their journeys according to the revised timings.
DMRC has also decided to start morning services one hour earlier on some selected lines. On Sunday, services on the Pink, Magenta and Grey lines normally begin at 7 am, but on November 8 the first train will depart from terminal stations at 6 am.
On the Pink Line, services between Majlis Park and Shiv Vihar will start at 6 am. On the Magenta Line, trains will also be available from 6 am on the Botanical Garden-Krishna Park Extension and Majlis Park-Deepali Chowk sections. On the Grey Line, metro services between Dwarka-Kakrola and Dhansa Bus Stand will begin one hour earlier than the scheduled time.
After the early morning start on these three lines, regular services through the day will run according to the Sunday timetable. No change has been announced in the morning service timings on the remaining metro lines.
DMRC has appealed to passengers to check the first and last train timings before travelling by metro on Diwali. Passengers travelling at night should especially note that 10 pm is the time at which the last train departs from terminal stations, not the time at which a train reaches every station.
