CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Delhi: New Delhi. In the final days of October, the cold set a new record in the national capital Delhi. At the Safdarjung weather station, the maximum temperature fell to 20.7 degrees Celsius. This is being described as the lowest maximum temperature recorded in October in the past 75 years. Because of this unusual drop in temperature, people felt the chill even during the day.
The impact of this change in weather was visible in several parts of the capital. Cold winds in the morning and evening forced people to wear warm clothes. Usually, in the last week of October, the weather gradually starts turning cold, but this time the sharp fall in temperature intensified the early effect of winter.
Western disturbances and north-westerly winds are considered to have played an important role behind this change in weather. Weather activities such as cloud conditions, wind direction and rain also affect the maximum temperature. With less sunshine during the day, the temperature could not reach the normal level.
According to Meteorological Department data, a maximum temperature of 20.7 degrees Celsius is an exceptional drop for October weather. This record has also drawn attention to the capital’s old weather data.
In the coming days, fluctuations in temperature may continue. In view of the weather conditions, people are being advised to take precautions while going out in the morning and at night.
