CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, while addressing the State-Level Conference of Democracy Fighters held at the CM Residence, said that democracy is an integral part of Indian civilization and culture. It is not merely a system of governance but the very foundation of our way of life. He emphasized that we are able to live in a strong democratic system today because of the struggles and sacrifices of democracy fighters.

The Chief Minister announced that all democracy fighters above the age of 70 will receive free medical treatment under the Ayushman Card and, if required, access to the PM Air Ambulance service. He also stated that, if eligible, family members of democracy fighters would be given priority in government schemes.

CM Yadav also released the ‘MISA Patrika’ and ‘Emergency Diary’, publications related to the Emergency period, and honored Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot and other dignitaries with commemorative copper plaques (tamrapatras).

On the occasion, he declared that the year 2025 would be celebrated as the Year of Employment and Industry in Madhya Pradesh.

Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot praised the Madhya Pradesh government, stating that it provides the highest number of facilities to democracy fighters. The event was also attended by Kailash Soni, National President of the Democracy Fighters Association, several public representatives, and veteran democracy fighters.
