CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: As part of the National Vector-Borne Disease Control Program, an advocacy workshop was organized on Tuesday at the Gandhinagar Community Health Center under the observance of Dengue Prevention Month. The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Manish Sharma, and led by District Malaria Officer Smrita Namdev.

During the event, Block Medical Officer Manoj Nigam reviewed various national health programs. The District Malaria Officer provided detailed information on vector-borne diseases to all ASHA supervisors, and gave specific instructions on dengue prevention and control, aiming to intensify efforts for dengue control in the region.

There was an in-depth discussion on how ASHA workers should carry out larval surveys in rural areas.

During field inspections, the survey teams were instructed to look for Aedes mosquito breeding sites, such as containers, discarded tires, coconut shells, scrap materials, and unused items, as the Aedes mosquito is a container breeder.

All participants were advised to:

Change stagnant water weekly

Avoid storing water in open containers

Under the Malaria Elimination Program 2030, directives were also given to strengthen surveillance at the community health center.

The workshop was attended by District Malaria Consultant Ruchi Silakari, Malaria Inspector Urmila Singh, and Gandhinagar CHC In-Charge Satish Tiwari.

The District Malaria Officer also carried out laboratory inspections and record checks during the visit.
