CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In the Department of Earth Sciences at Barkatullah University, the “Standard Club” was formed under the auspices of the Bureau of Indian Standards. About 10 students from this club participated in the “Standard Writing Competition” sponsored by the Bureau of Indian Standards.
At the beginning of the competition, the Head of the Earth Sciences Department and the mentor of the Standard Club, Dr. Vineesha Singh, along with Mr. Avinash Kathoriya, Resource Person from the Bureau of Indian Standards, were welcomed with a bouquet. Mr. Avinash Kathoriya, the Resource Person, and Dr. Vineesha Singh, the mentor of the Standard Club, provided guidance on the Bureau of Indian Standards and the Standard Writing Competition, and also discussed the significance of BIS hallmarks and their importance in daily life.
Subsequently, the students wrote standard essays on the topic of “Packaged Drinking Water” and secured the first position in the Standard Writing Competition. Leena Deshmukh-Krishnakant, Dipthi Shukla-Ganesh, Preeti Sen-Abhishek Garg, and Mayank Sahu-Gaurab Rajputka’s group won the consolation prize. This event was attended by Dr. Vineesha Singh, Mentor/Head of the Department of Earth Sciences, Barkatullah University, Bhopal, Dr. Aarti Davar (Assistant Professor), Dr. Shyam Avatar (Guest Faculty), research scholars, and other members of the department.
