CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The third edition of the premier summer initiative ‘Design Camp 3.0’ by the National Institute of Design, Madhya Pradesh, has commenced. This five-day workshop offers budding designers, educators, and creative professionals an immersive experience in design-based learning.
The first day of the event began with formal registration and an inaugural ceremony, featuring an inspiring address by the institute’s Director, Vidya Rakesh, and introductory remarks by the program coordinators Shabaridharan, Rakesh Vidhate, and Mr. Rahul Sahni. Following this, participants were taken on an introductory tour of the institute and its library to familiarize themselves with the academic infrastructure and learning environment.
The day continued with a design talk by senior design faculty Dr. Shekhar Chatterjee, offering insights into contemporary design discourse. On the second day, Design Camp 3.0 gained further momentum with a session led by senior faculty Nitika Devgan, who explored various perspectives in design practice. The afternoon session featured games and recreational activities under the guidance of Director Shailendra Ojha, emphasizing the importance of holistic development.
In the days to come, the workshop will host focused sessions on a range of topics including printmaking, handloom weaving (Tana-Bana), clay modeling, jewelry design, and game design, led by distinguished faculty and regional experts. Additionally, open discussions, cultural programs, motivational talks, and an exhibition showcasing participants’ work will be part of the closing ceremony.
Design Camp 3.0 stands as a testament to the institute’s commitment to nurturing creative potential and fostering design awareness, aiming to instill design sensitivity among innovators and future design professionals.
