CNN Central News & Network – ITDC India Express / ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, a speech activity was organized at Sarojini Naidu Government Girls College. The event began with lighting of the ceremonial lamp and floral tribute to the idol of Goddess Saraswati by Surendra Mittal, Chairman of the Governing Body and Mittal Group of Industries, along with Principal Deepti Srivastava.

On this occasion, Surendra Mittal inspired students to follow the ideals of Lokmata. Principal Deepti Srivastava gave a detailed account of Devi Ahilyabai’s life philosophy, her contributions in the field of social reform, religion, and women empowerment. She stated that Lokmata was a true embodiment of justice and compassion, and her work continues to inspire the youth. Because of her welfare activities, she is revered as Punyashlok Devi Ahilyabai.

Other dignitaries present included Alka Pradhan, S.D. Singh, Alok Nigam, Ashok Nema, Vandana Sharma, P.K. Khare, and Chief Clerk Tarulata Sharma. Around 80 students participated in the event after their college exams. The vote of thanks was delivered by Administrative Officer Ashok Nema.
