A large crowd of devotees is gathering at the Maa Annapurna temple in Varanasi for darshan of the deity’s golden form. A queue nearly two kilometres long formed outside the temple for darshan. A large number of devotees were seen standing in line from midnight, waiting for their turn. A devotional atmosphere prevails in the temple premises and surrounding areas.
In Kashi, darshan of Maa Annapurna’s golden form is arranged on a special occasion during the year. During this period, devotees from far-flung areas also arrive for darshan and worship of the goddess. Special enthusiasm is being seen among devotees for this five-day special darshan programme.
In view of the crowd, special attention is being given to managing the movement of devotees and queues around the temple. Devotees are having darshan of Maa Annapurna’s golden form after waiting for hours. According to religious belief, Maa Annapurna is regarded as the goddess of food and prosperity. Her darshan in Kashi has special religious significance.
