CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Rapper Daksh Pendharkar, a resident of Sonipat in Haryana and known in the music world as “Dhadkan”, has won the title of the reality show “Hustle 5 – Apna Homeground”. The 20-year-old Dhadkan won the trophy along with prize money of ₹1 crore. His success tells the story of struggle and hard work for an artist who once had to borrow clothes, shoes and jackets from friends to perform at rap shows.
Dhadkan’s journey was not easy. Despite his passion for rap, he faced financial challenges. To take part in events in Delhi and Gurugram, he often had to travel by bus and shared taxi. He even had to borrow good clothes, shoes and jackets from friends before going on stage.
According to his family, Dhadkan continued his studies along with music. Many times, after returning from college, he had to arrange money for travel and other expenses. To meet these needs, he worked in video editing. The income from this work helped him cover costs linked to his rap journey and performances. Despite financial difficulties, he did not distance himself from music. He practised late into the night to sharpen his skills and spent time writing new raps.
Dhadkan created a distinct identity with his Haryanvi style. In “Hustle 5 – Apna Homeground”, he represented Paradox’s squad. His performances reflected Haryanvi folk flavour, powerful rap and his own cultural roots. During the competition, he drew the attention of both the audience and the judges with his performances.
Rapper Badshah was part of the show as the main judge. Artists from different backgrounds took part in the competition, trying to establish their identity through hip-hop music. After a contest that ran for several weeks, Dhadkan was declared the winner on 11 October 2026. In the competition, Whysokai finished as the first runner-up, while Harmeet secured the second runner-up position.
Dhadkan’s victory is not limited to the prize money. It is also an inspiration for young artists who dream of gaining recognition for their talent despite limited resources. His story shows that financial difficulties may become obstacles in an artist’s path, but sustained hard work and practice can also open opportunities to move forward.
With the ₹1 crore prize money, Dhadkan now has new opportunities to take his music career ahead. His success has also brought joy to Sonipat. From wearing friends’ clothes and shoes to reach the stage, Dhadkan has now made a place for himself among the country’s well-known emerging rap artists.
