Grand Inauguration of Student Housing at the Old Campus
XIM University had the honor of hosting distinguished dignitaries for the inauguration ceremony of the newly built student housing at its old campus. The event was graced by the Honorable Minister of Education, Government of India, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, who marked this significant milestone in ensuring world-class residential facilities for students.
Other esteemed guests included Odisha’s Higher Education Minister, Suryavanshi Suraj, Rajya Sabha Members Sasmit Patra and V. Muraleedharan, along with Odisha MLAs Dusmanta Kumar Swain and Raghunath Jagdala. Senior university leaders such as Vice-Chancellor Father Antony R. Uvari, S.J., Registrar Father S. Antony Raj, S.J., and other key administrative members were also present at the event.
State-of-the-Art 16-Storey Student Housing
The newly constructed 16-storey student housing is a modern, state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance students’ living experiences. Spread over 28,689 square meters with a project cost of ₹132 crore, this housing complex offers approximately 1,000 single-occupancy rooms, each equipped with essential amenities for a comfortable stay.
Additionally, the facility includes dedicated spaces for sports, fitness, and extracurricular activities, featuring a food court, gym, and student union rooms. Essential services such as dining, healthcare, and other necessary facilities are also integrated into the premises.
Dignitaries’ Perspectives
Union Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, praised XIM University’s rich legacy, calling it a hub of knowledge and excellence. He commended the contribution of Jesuit education to nation-building and emphasized its critical role in ensuring quality education for all. He also encouraged the adoption of the National Education Policy (NEP) to further enrich the knowledge and capabilities of the younger generation.
Odisha’s Higher Education Minister, Suryavanshi Suraj, expressed that the new student housing at XIM University is not just a building but a center of growth, learning, innovation, and creativity.
XIM University’s Vice-Chancellor, Father Antony R. Uvari, S.J., shared his thoughts, stating:
