CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bollywood mourns the loss of legendary actor Dharmendra, who passed away on 24 November 2025 at the age of 89. Known as the industry’s original “He-Man”, his six-decade career spanned over 300 films and included iconic performances in films such as Sholay. His death marks the end of an era in Hindi cinema, with fans, colleagues and political leaders paying tribute to his unmatched charisma, versatility and enduring legacy.
Funeral rites were held at Mumbai’s Pawan Hans crematorium, attended by family members, industry heavyweights and well-wishers. In addition to his cinematic contributions, Dharmendra briefly served as a Member of Parliament and was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2012. He leaves behind his wife Hema Malini, children including Sunny and Bobby Deol, and a cinematic lineage that will carry forward his memory.
As the world remembers his powerful screen presence, warm off-screen persona and unforgettable roles, the spotlight now shifts to his final film ‘Ikkis’, set to release posthumously and stand as a tribute. While the actor has left the mortal frame, his influence will continue to shine through generations, reminding us that great stars never truly fade—they live on in our hearts and history.
