CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: YouTuber and political commentator Dhruv Rathee will also join the CJP protest to be held on October 8 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, against SIR, the Special Intensive Revision of the electoral roll. Rathee has reached Bengaluru and has confirmed his participation in the protest through a video released on social media.

The protest is being organised at Freedom Park in Bengaluru. According to CJP, the programme will present, through a “People’s Tribunal,” the complaints of people who claim that their names were removed from the electoral roll during the SIR process. A “chappal protest” will also be held after this.

In his video, Dhruv Rathee appealed to people to join not only the Bengaluru protest but also the demonstration scheduled for October 10 at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. He described it as a fight to save democracy. The Delhi protest is being organised by CJP with the participation of various student organisations.

The protesters’ key demands include a halt to the SIR process, an inquiry into names allegedly removed wrongly from the electoral roll, and the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. However, these are the demands of the protesters and organisers.
