CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Protests by nursing students against irregularities in nursing colleges continue. Today, hundreds of nursing students reached Satpura Bhavan and the residence of former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh. The students expressed their discontent over irregularities in the examinations and admission counseling processes conducted by the Employees Selection Board (ESB).

The students allege that after the results were declared and admissions were granted, the admissions of thousands of eligible students are now being canceled.

Digvijaya Singh Extends Support

Former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh listened to the students’ grievances seriously and assured them that he would discuss the matter with departmental officials. He stated that the injustice being done to the students would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Questions Raised Over Cancellation of CBSE Board Students’ Admissions

The cancellation of admissions for CBSE board students has also sparked strong objections from NSUI. Students claim that despite being allowed to appear in the examination, having their results declared, and being granted admission during the counseling process, their admissions are now being canceled citing new admission rules.

Statement by NSUI State Vice President Ravi Parmar

“This is not just an injustice to nursing students but also to CBSE board students. Changing rules during the examination and counseling process is a mockery of students’ futures. It highlights severe flaws in the functioning of the Nursing Council and the Medical Education Department. NSUI stands firmly with the students in their struggle.”

NSUI’s Demands:

All students must be included in the counseling process.

The order canceling the admissions of CBSE board students must be revoked immediately.

An investigation should be conducted into the irregularities of the Nursing Council and Medical Education Department.

Strict action should be taken against those jeopardizing the future of students.

NSUI has clarified that if the students’ issues are not resolved promptly, the organization will launch a large-scale agitation.
