CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A grand Diksha Aarambh programme was organised for newly admitted students at Shri Satya Sai Women’s College and Women’s Law College, a prestigious institution of the state accredited with an A Plus grade by NAAC.

The main objective of the programme was to familiarise the newly admitted students with the college environment, inform them about the importance of higher education and mark an auspicious beginning to their forthcoming academic journey. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp before Maa Saraswati.

College student union in-charge Dr Shobhana Srivastava welcomed the newly admitted students. In her address, college director Dr Pratibha Singh said students should set goals in life and continue working to achieve them with hard work, honesty and positive thinking. She said the initial phase of college life is the foundation of their bright future.

College principal Dr Renu Mishra welcomed the newly admitted students and informed them about the college’s glorious traditions, achievements and system of discipline. Law college principal Dr Anju Bajpai also welcomed the new students and introduced them to the values of the institution.

During the programme, scholarship in-charges of the college gave detailed information on government-run scholarships, including the Jan Kalyan Yojana, Medhavi and Post-Matric schemes. First-year advisers from various faculties introduced themselves to the students. NCC in-charge Lieutenant Dr Sarita Kushwah and NSS in-charge Dr Manisha Tripathi acquainted the students with the glorious history of NCC and NSS in the college.

Guest Suneet Agrawal, Judge/Secretary, District Legal Court, Bhopal, administered an oath to all those present in the auditorium regarding their moral responsibility towards the environment. Agrawal and the newly admitted students planted saplings on the college campus, giving a message of environmental protection.

The students were also given detailed information about the library, sports, cultural activities and canteen. At the end of the programme, senior students of the college welcomed the newly admitted students, shared their experiences related to the college and gave them confidence and inspiration.

Parents, senior faculty members, quality cell in-charge Dr Neena Arora, student union in-charge Dr Shobhana Srivastava and Dr Roopa Guha Nandi, all faculty members and senior students were present on the occasion. The entire programme was successfully conducted by Dr Anuradha Singh, associate professor in the Hindi department.
