CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A discussion on tobacco and drug-free India was organized on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day under the joint aegis of Rabindranath Tagore University’s National Service Scheme Unit, Education Department and Youth for Seva. Along with this, B certificate examination of National Service Scheme was also organized.
In which Yasmin Khan, Program Officer of Career College, was present as the external examiner and key speaker and Atar Sahu, District Coordinator of Youth for Seva, was present as the special speaker. Dr. Yasmin Khan said that drug consumption is increasing among the youth as a fashion. Due to which our strong young generation is falling into the pit of weakness and disease.
If we want our young generation to keep waving the flag of India across the world, then we have to save the youth from drug addiction. Special speaker Mr. Atar Sahu said that if the addiction is of drugs then it ruins the generations whereas if the addiction is of education or social service then it grooms the generations.
Therefore, include good habits in your life and give up bad habits.
Program officer Gabbar Singh, who is coordinating the program, said that tobacco is the gift of foreigners. People of the Portuguese company started cultivating tobacco here. Today the situation is that India is the second largest tobacco producing country in the world.
Volunteers of the National Service Scheme Unit are spreading the message of de-addiction in the society through public awareness activities. The program was conducted by volunteers Jyoti Kumari and Aaqib Muhammad and vote of thanks program officer Rekha Gupta. The main role in the program was played by State Camper and Dalnayak Avinash Kumar, Shivendra Rajput, Rishika Raghuvanshi, Jamshed Alam, Awadhesh Kumar Diya Kumari etc.
