CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Chairman of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee, Alok Sharma, MP of Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency, issued instructions to form joint teams with the Municipal Corporation in urban wards and the District Panchayat in rural areas during the upcoming Service Fortnight to facilitate the issuance of Ayushman cards for all senior citizens aged 70 and above in Bhopal district. A total of 151,505 senior citizens are to receive Ayushman cards under this initiative.
While reviewing the Smart City project, Chairman Sharma directed arrangements for parking incoming tourist vehicles to make Bhopal a major tourism hub. He also instructed that a proposal be prepared to connect Gauhar Mahal and VIP Road around the Sadar Manzil area via a skywalk.
He informed that the PM-E Bus Service (Phase-1) for urban areas, covering Sant Hirdaram Nagar and Kasturba Nagar, has finalized 100 bus operators and depots. It is proposed that buses will be procured and operations will begin in the first quarter of the upcoming year. For PM-E Bus Service (Phase-2), covering Arif Nagar, Kola Road, and Kajlikheda with 95 buses, approval from the central government will be obtained, and bus operators will be selected through a tendering process. The design and drawings of the bus depots will be carried out by BMC/BCLL.
During the review meeting, officers of the Excise Department were instructed to ensure timely opening of liquor shops and to take strict action against illegal liquor.
The meeting was attended by MLA Bhagwandas Sabanani, MLA Atif Arif Aqil, Mayor Malti Rai, other MLAs and public representatives, District Panchayat Vice-Chairman Mohan Nagar, Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan, Smart City CEO Anju Arun Kumar, District Panchayat CEO Ila Tiwari, ADM Ankur Meshram, along with all SDMs and officers of the relevant departments.
