CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A meeting of the District Health Committee was held at the Collector’s Office. Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh reviewed the ongoing health programs. The meeting was attended by Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bhopal, Manish Sharma; District Program Officer of the Women and Child Development Department, Sunil Solanki; nodal officers of various health programs; and representatives and officials from different departments and government health institutions.
During the review, the Collector directed that the root causes of every child death occurring in the SNCU (Special Newborn Care Unit) be thoroughly examined so that timely management can help reduce the neonatal mortality rate. He instructed that death audits should include complications arising during pregnancy as well as those occurring during delivery.
The Collector emphasized mandatory adherence to infection control checklists in operation theatres and labor rooms of hospitals. He suggested considering the integration of AI-based technology to strengthen infection control processes and minimize the possibility of human error.
He also directed officials to obtain feedback from beneficiaries to enhance vaccination awareness. Instructions were given to increase ANC (Antenatal Care) registration, identify high-risk pregnancies, ensure timely referrals, and provide safe delivery services.
Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bhopal, Manish Sharma informed the meeting that under the HOPE program for home-based healthcare of the elderly, 902 senior citizens have been identified. Nursing officers have so far provided healthcare services to 560 elderly beneficiaries. Under the program, health workers visit elderly patients suffering from serious illnesses at their homes on the 7th, 14th, and 21st day to provide necessary care.
On this occasion, during the District Nutrition Committee meeting, the Women and Child Development Officer shared information about services being provided for the nutrition of pregnant women and children. The Collector directed the Health Department and the Women and Child Development Department to work in coordination.
