CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A meeting of the District Health Committee and Task Force was held under the chairmanship of Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh to review various health programs and schemes, including the Pulse Polio Campaign, DPT Vaccination, Ayushman Bharat, SAANS Initiative, and Men’s Sterilization Fortnight. Representatives from all relevant departments and organizations attended the meeting.
Focus on Ayushman Card Creation
During the review of the Ayushman Bharat Niramayam Scheme, it was reported that 95% of eligible beneficiaries in the district have already received their Ayushman cards. Special efforts are now being directed towards creating cards for senior citizens aged 70 and above, as well as workers. The Collector instructed Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) to organize camps in their respective areas to ensure all eligible beneficiaries receive their cards promptly.
Fire Safety Inspections in Hospitals
The Collector emphasized ensuring robust fire safety measures in all hospitals. He directed the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) to verify fire NOCs (No Objection Certificates) and conduct surprise inspections of hospital facilities.
Improving Maternal Mortality Rates
In reviewing the maternal health program, it was revealed that 91% of pregnant women in the district have been registered. Through the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan and high-risk pregnancy clinics, cases of hypertension and severe anemia among pregnant women are being managed effectively. The Collector congratulated the health department team for their success in these efforts.
Preparation for Pulse Polio Campaign
The meeting discussed preparations for the Pulse Polio Campaign scheduled for December 8. The Collector instructed that an awareness drive be conducted to ensure that all children under the age of five are brought to polio booths for vaccination. Departments of Women and Child Development and Education were directed to collaborate in the campaign.
SAANS Initiative: Combating Pneumonia
Under the SAANS Initiative, efforts are being made to identify and manage pneumonia in children under five years old. This campaign, continuing until February 28, aims to play a critical role in reducing child mortality rates.
Focus on Cleanliness and Facilities
The Collector instructed that Jaiprakash District Hospital be operated as a model hospital, ensuring cleanliness and enhanced facilities for patients.
Online OPD Registration
CMHO Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari shared that pre-booking for OPD consultations in government hospitals can now be done by calling the Ayushman Bharat helpline number 18002332085. The Collector encouraged wider utilization of this service.
Collaborative Efforts in Health Campaigns
Discussions covered health programs such as immunization, TB eradication, leprosy control, and blindness prevention. The health department reported that the Pulse Polio Campaign aims to vaccinate approximately 300,000 children in Bhopal district.
