CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: A joint meeting of the District Health and Nutrition Committee was held in Bhopal under the chairmanship of Collector Priyank Mishra in the Collectorate meeting hall.
At the meeting, the Collector expressed strong displeasure over dengue and directed the municipal corporation and the health department to conduct a joint survey of dengue hotspots in the city and ensure necessary action. He also instructed officials to take spot-fine action in cases of waterlogging and filth on vacant plots.
Collector Mishra directed officials to ensure effective implementation of health and nutrition services in the district, timely availability of health services for pregnant women, expansion of digital health services, creation of ABHA IDs and 100 per cent achievement of the Aadhaar registration target for elderly people above 70 years of age. He also directed officers of the departments concerned to work in coordination and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of government schemes.
Emphasis was laid on effective implementation of Suman Panchayat. The meeting especially stressed strengthening maternal and child health services through Suman Panchayat and providing quality health services to pregnant women and newborns. Officials concerned were instructed to ensure regular monitoring of health services, identification of eligible beneficiaries and departmental coordination at the field level so that health services reach those in need on time. Instructions were also given to select Suman Panchayat in the Phanda and Berasia blocks of the district.
Collector Mishra emphasised ensuring 100 per cent ANC registration of pregnant women. He directed officials to ensure early identification of pregnancy, timely registration, antenatal check-ups at prescribed intervals, necessary health tests, and identification and regular monitoring of high-risk pregnant women.

He said coordination among ASHA workers, ANMs, Anganwadi workers and the field staff concerned is necessary to connect pregnant women with health services. Effective efforts should be made to ensure access to health services for every eligible pregnant woman and to reduce maternal and infant mortality.
