CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Sant Hirdaram Girls College successfully organized a two-day district-level inter-college girls’ Kho-Kho tournament along with selection trials. Talented students from various colleges across the city showcased their sporting skills, team spirit, and enthusiasm throughout the event.
The program was graced by the presence of distinguished guests. Chief Guest Prateek Bhatnagar, Chief Engineer, Merchant Navy, encouraged the players with motivating words. Special Guest Dr. Alok Mishra, Director of the Physical Education Department, Barkatullah University, Bhopal, emphasized the importance of discipline and dedication to the students. Additionally, Dr. Satish Kumar, Sports Officer, Shyamaprasad Mukherjee College, and Dr. Sunil Sharma, Chief Coach, Narmadapuram Division (MPCA), were present and provided valuable guidance to the players.
A total of five teams participated in the tournament: Sant Hirdaram Girls College, Sarojini Naidu Girls College, U.T.D., M.L.B., and V.N.S. College. After thrilling matches, Sarojini Naidu Girls College secured first place, while U.T.D. took second place. The title of Player of the Tournament was awarded to Riya Singh (Sarojini Naidu), and the Best Player award went to Prerna Verma (U.T.D.).
For the selection trials, four colleges—Rajiv Gandhi College, Maharana Pratap College, B.S.S.S., and I.P.C. College—participated, receiving an excellent response for this district-level initiative. The event aimed to encourage girls in sports and promote a healthy competitive spirit among colleges.

College Principal Dr. Dalima Parwani praised all participants and congratulated the winners, stating, “Sports are an important part of life, teaching discipline, patience, and life values. Every student should participate in sports.”
Dr. Meenu Tahilyani, Dean of the Computer Science Department, expressed gratitude to the Organizing Secretary Dr. Shanti Sharma and said, “It is a matter of pride for Sant Hirdaram Girls College to host this district-level competition.” She also extended best wishes to all selected players for the upcoming round, scheduled to be held on 6 December 2025 in Sehore.
All participating colleges expressed their satisfaction with the organization. The selection list was announced immediately after the tournament by Dr. Shanti Sharma, ensuring transparency in the process. The management and faculty of Sant Hirdaram Girls College extended heartfelt thanks to all guests, participants, and organizing committee members who played a key role in making the event a success.
