CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal: A meeting of the district-level advisory committee was held under the chairmanship of District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Ila Tiwari to strengthen financial inclusion in the district and expand the reach of insurance protection to citizens. The meeting reviewed banking services, financial inclusion and the effective implementation of insurance schemes.
At the meeting, information was shared on the formation of a district-level insurance committee under the chairmanship of Collector Priyank Mishra for the successful implementation of the Mission-2047 Insurance for All campaign. The committee aims to provide citizens with accessible, quality and affordable insurance services and increase awareness about insurance.
It was stated that through the committee, citizens will be informed about various insurance products and services. Necessary guidance and training will also be provided to insured persons and their family members for the speedy settlement of insurance claims in the event of an accident or death. At the same time, the process of preparing suitable insurance products in line with citizens’ needs will also be initiated.
The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India has appointed lead insurance companies for the effective operation of the campaign in the life and general insurance sectors. With the cooperation of the state government and various insurance companies, the state insurance scheme will be operated through committees at the state and district levels.

Instructions were given at the meeting to link the accounts of women members of self-help groups with insurance schemes and to mandatorily ensure the nomination process in Jan Dhan and savings accounts. Directions were also issued for the speedy disposal of pending claims under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana.
CEO Tiwari directed that daily reporting of the campaign be ensured and regular reviews be carried out at every level. She said that if any kind of negligence is found, the related cases will be sent to the Finance Department.
Representatives of all major banks, the lead district manager, officials of insurance companies and representatives of related departments attended the meeting and discussed the campaign action plan in detail.
Information related to the redressal of insurance complaints was also shared at the meeting. Beneficiaries can contact the Insurance Ombudsman or the IRDAI grievance redressal centre for complaints related to health insurance or crop insurance. For this, they can call the toll-free numbers 155255 or 1800-4254-732. Complaints can also be registered through email or the Bima Bharosa portal.
