CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India ePress/ITDC News Bhopal: District Panchayat Bhopal Chief Executive Officer Ila Tiwari said wide publicity of various skill development schemes and programmes among every section of society is essential for effective achievement of their prescribed targets. She said that by taking information on skill development opportunities to the last mile, more and more youth, especially women, can be linked to employment and self-employment.
Tiwari was addressing a meeting of the District Skill Committee held at the Government Divisional Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Govindpura. The meeting reviewed the progress of skill development programmes, employment-oriented schemes and beneficiary-based activities being run in the district, and discussed the future action plan in detail.
At the meeting, Tiwari directed officials to ensure maximum participation in UN Women’s ‘We STEM’ programme on June 12, which has more than 100 positions, and in the mega women-centric placement drive being organised by Trident Budhni on June 16 for more than 500 posts. She stressed a wide awareness campaign to connect these opportunities with women associated with the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), the National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM), self-help groups, and girls and women who have passed Class 8, Class 10 and Class 12. She also directed special publicity in rural and urban areas through anganwadi workers and voluntary organisations.
Tiwari also laid special emphasis on publicising skill development schemes and information related to ITI admissions in public welfare camps and in hostels for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Class students. She directed that details of students studying in ITIs be mandatorily uploaded on the ‘Harsh Portal’ to prepare their comprehensive profiles.
