CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal Divisional Commissioner Karmveer Sharma held a meeting with the agencies concerned over the condition of roads in Bhopal city. In the meeting, he directed that roads should remain in good condition during the rainy season and that there should be no waterlogging.

Divisional Commissioner Sharma said several agencies are involved in the construction and maintenance of roads in Bhopal city, and there should be mutual coordination among all of them. Sharma expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of the overbridge being built in Sant Hirdaram Nagar and said the construction should be completed within the stipulated time.

Sharma said all construction agencies must ensure that PNG gas supply in the city is not disrupted during construction work. Representatives of the gas agency were also present at the meeting. Sharma said there should be better coordination among all stakeholders.

Sharma told the Municipal Corporation engineer to keep complete preparations ready for road maintenance during the rains. Wherever a complaint is received, the response time should be extremely short, he said.

Sharma also directed officials to pay attention to roads leading towards Bhopal city. He said it should be ensured that there is better movement on Bhopal’s outer routes during Simhastha. The meeting was informed that the Bhopal-Sagar-Kanpur route is likely to see heavy transport movement during Simhastha. Sharma said traffic movement on this route should remain smooth.

In the meeting, Sharma directed effective action to remove black spots on roads in and around Bhopal city. He said better coordination should be maintained with the traffic police in this regard. At places where black spots cannot be removed immediately, better and effective signages should be installed.
