CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: At Vikramaditya University, Ujjain, the five-day grand festival of Diwali, ‘Deepotsav’, was ceremoniously inaugurated. On the highly auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, the celebrations began with the worship of Lord Kubera, the deity of wealth, and Lord Dhanvantari, the deity of health and Ayurveda, accompanied by Vedic chants.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Arpan Bhardwaj, and the Finance Controller, Juwan Singh Tomar, performed the rituals for the worship of Lord Kubera and Lord Dhanvantari, praying for the prosperity, well-being, and academic progress of the entire university family.

Providing details, Assistant Registrar (Accounts) Abhishek Mishra stated that, as in previous years, the Deepotsav began in the conference hall of the University’s Accounts and Finance Department. The ceremony commenced with the Kalash installation for both departments by scholar Pandit Badrilal Pathak at an auspicious time. Subsequently, the idols of Goddess Mahalakshmi, Lord Kubera, Lord Dhanvantari, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Vishnu were installed and invoked. The main worship began with Lord Kubera, the protector of wealth, and Lord Dhanvantari, the provider of health.

During the rituals, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Arpan Bhardwaj and Finance Controller Juwan Singh Tomar conducted Kalash puja, invocation, Shodashopchar (sixteen-step ritual), and special ceremonies for growth and prosperity. Prayers for peace, happiness, and prosperity for the entire university community were offered throughout the ceremony.

After the worship, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Arpan Bhardwaj extended Diwali greetings to all teachers, officers, staff, and students. He said, “May this Diwali festival fill everyone’s life with happiness, prosperity, and joy, and may the eternal blessings of Goddess Mahalakshmi remain with us throughout the year.”

University Registrar Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma also conveyed his best wishes on this sacred occasion of Deepotsav, praying for the advancement and progress of the university family.

Finance Controller Juwan Singh Tomar, while giving his greetings, said, “We hope that this Diwali festival brings new heights to the Vikramaditya University family and keeps us moving forward on the path of continuous growth and progress.”

The worship ceremony was attended by Dr. Sushil Kumar Sharma, Dr. Raman Solanki, Dr. Shekhar Maidamwar, Dr. Ajay Sharma, Dr. Sarveshwar Sharma, Dr. Anil Kumar Jain, Dr. Mahendra Pandya, Dinesh Tayde (Cashier), Om Joshi, Manohar Singh Bains, Iqbal Hussain, Rajendra Sharma, Rajendra Jha, Durga Makwana, Janki Verma, Manoj Parmar, Lokesh Solanki, Ramesh Suryavanshi (AR Confidential), Janki Verma, Sandhya Patil, Pandit Badrilal Pathak, Kiran Parmar, Ashok Malviya, and Zulfikar.

Teachers, officers, and staff actively participated in the puja and rituals during this auspicious occasion.
