After receiving a complaint about poor quality in road construction work, the District Magistrate strongly rebuked the engineer concerned. During the inspection, irregularities in the construction work came to light, prompting the DM to express displeasure and issue a clear warning that an impartial inquiry would be conducted. If found guilty, responsible officials could face strict action, including being sent to jail.
The District Magistrate asked the engineer why negligence had occurred in road construction despite several meetings being held to ensure quality and clear instructions being issued. He said that if construction work is not carried out according to standards even after repeated instructions, it will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The DM directed the officials concerned to conduct a detailed inquiry into the quality of the construction work and fix responsibility if shortcomings are found. He also said transparency and quality must be the highest priorities in development work carried out with government funds.
The District Magistrate warned that strict action would be taken against those responsible for negligence in construction work, disregard of standards and misuse of government funds.
