CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Disaster Management Institute (DMI), Bhopal, under the Home Department of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, organized a three-day training program on disaster management for the Revenue Department officials of the state.

Deputy Collectors, Tehsildars, and Naib Tehsildars from various districts of Madhya Pradesh participated in the training. The program began with an introduction to the institute by Joint Director Sudhir Dwivedi, followed by an overview of the training sessions by Assistant Director Priyanka Saxena.

On the first day, Mr. Dwivedi introduced the participants to disaster-related terminology, as well as relevant disaster management acts, policies, and guidelines. Later, Ms. Saxena discussed district disaster management plans and technical tools like mobile apps, portals, and the Management Information System (MIS) used in disaster response.

The second day included a practical session on disaster control equipment available with SDERF (State Disaster Emergency Response Force) and an overview of the disaster control room. Deputy Director of the State Disaster Authority, Saurabh Singh, briefed participants on Incident Response Teams (IRTs) and delivered a lecture on the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for relief camps.

On the third day, participants were introduced to the Disaster Warning Response System (DWRS), an app developed for flood-related disaster information. The valedictory session and distribution of certificates were led by the Executive Director of DMI, Ashish Bhargava, IAS, who appreciated the participants’ enthusiasm and engagement.
