CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the third death anniversary of late Pushpendra Pal Singh, fondly remembered as PP Sir, heartfelt tributes were paid to the mentor who guided thousands of journalists and media professionals in the fields of Indian journalism, mass communication, and media education.
On this occasion, the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at SAGE University Bhopal organized a special academic masterclass on the theme “Changing Landscape of Media and PR” for students of media and public relations. The event, initiated by former students of PP Sir, brought together media experts who guided students on emerging technologies, digital media trends, and career opportunities.
During the masterclass, Rajeev Sharma, Associate (MP-1) at Dainik Bhaskar, shared his views on how artificial intelligence is transforming the media industry. He explained that AI has simplified many tasks in journalism and enables faster processes such as data analysis. He advised students that understanding how to write effective prompts is essential while using AI tools.

Sharma noted that AI offers journalists several tools for image creation, text generation, and fact-checking, but emphasized that human judgment and ground reporting will always remain central to journalism. He cautioned that AI-generated content should never be trusted blindly. Journalists, he said, have the responsibility to cross-check, verify, and re-verify any AI-based content before publishing it. Understanding the real pulse of society and readers, he added, is a task that only a sensitive and responsible journalist can accomplish.
In the second session, Abhishek Jain, media consultant at the Ministry of Rural Development, guided students on changes in public relations and career opportunities in the era of social media. He highlighted topics such as social media influencing, strategy making, content planning, and the effective use of digital platforms.
During the program, floral tributes were offered to the portrait of late Pushpendra Pal Singh, and a short film based on his life and contributions was screened. University officials, faculty members, alumni, and a large number of students were present at the event
