CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Bhopal Health Department organized an orientation and training session on Ferric Carboxymaltose and Iron Sucrose Infusion at Hamidia Hospital. The training covered dosage, administration methods, precautions, and related protocols for Ferric Carboxymaltose and Iron Sucrose.
Doctors from various government and private hospitals in the district participated in the orientation session held at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Hamidia Hospital. The training was addressed by Dean of Gandhi Medical College Kavita N. Singh, Director of Maternal and Child Health Aruna Kumar, Joint Director of Maternal Health Archana Mishra, Anjali Kanhere, Dr. Gurpreet Nandmer, and Dr. Shabana Sultan.
The session focused specifically on the early detection of anemia cases during pregnancy, therapeutic management of anemia, types and causes of anemia, critical conditions of anemia, and topics related to intravenous iron therapy. Experts provided a detailed explanation of the procedures for administering Ferric Carboxymaltose and Iron Sucrose in cases of moderate and severe anemia.
Bhopal’s Chief Medical and Health Officer, Prabhakar Tiwari, noted that anemia is one of the leading causes of maternal mortality. Anemia levels are primarily assessed during early ANC registration, prenatal examinations, high-risk pregnancy clinics, and the Extended Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan.
