The participation of faculty members in various conferences and workshops not only enhances their skills but also keeps them updated with the latest advancements. Recently, Associate Professor of the Pharmacology Department, Ahmed Najmi, represented AIIMS Bhopal at the 7th workshop on ‘Pharmacogenomics, Basics to Advanced’ held at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh.
This workshop provided participants with practical experience in the latest techniques in molecular biology and pharmacogenomics. Participants, including Dr. Najmi, attended hands-on sessions on Sanger sequencing, next-generation sequencing, primer designing, real-time PCR, DNA extraction, RNA extraction, and the functional analysis of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). The workshop offered a valuable opportunity for participants to share knowledge and skills that will help foster innovation and improve therapeutic strategies tailored to individual genetic profiles.
Regarding the workshop, Dr. Najmi said, ‘Participating in this workshop has been an invaluable experience.
