CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the leadership of Professor (Dr.) Ajay Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS, Dr. Anshul Rai, Additional Professor in the Department of Dentistry, has been awarded a copyright by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of India, for his research on a new 3D printing technique for dental implants.

Dental implants are used for placing artificial teeth. This technique allows for precise placement of dental implants, significantly reducing the likelihood of the artificial teeth coming loose. The process involves performing a CBCT scan of the patient before the implant, creating a DICOM image through 3D printing. This DICOM image is then used to shape a model via 3D printing. A stent is made from this model as needed, which assists in the dental implant procedure. The use of this stent improves accuracy and reduces the time required for surgery, leading to quicker recovery for the patient.

Professor (Dr.) Ajay Singh has congratulated Dr. Anshul Rai for his success with this innovative technique.
