CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “Executive Professor Ajay Singh at AIIMS continually promotes a culture of academic excellence and knowledge-sharing among faculty and students. Under his guidance, AIIMS has achieved remarkable accomplishments on various academic platforms. Participation of faculty members in different conferences and workshops not only enhances their skills but also keeps them updated with the latest advancements. Recently, Dr. B.L. Soni from AIIMS introduced a new technique for the management of comminuted zygomatic maxillary complex (cheekbone) fractures using limited advanced resources at the 16th Asian Congress of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery held in Chennai. This international conference was attended by 2,000 maxillofacial surgeons from 16 Asian countries.
At this conference, Dr. Soni presented the ‘AIIMS Protocol’ for managing facial bone fractures. He introduced a new technique for the effective management of facial bone fractures, which can restore the face to its near-original condition using limited advanced resources. This protocol successfully prevented facial disfigurement in 14 cases through surgery. This new technique will bring significant changes in the field of maxillofacial surgery.
According to Dr. Ajay Singh of AIIMS, the ‘AIIMS Protocol’ for managing facial bone fractures can prove to be a superior technique for young surgeons, enabling them to better handle complex facial injuries and ultimately improve patient outcomes.”
