CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Dr. Manisha Srivastava has taken charge as Director of the Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC). The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) issued orders regarding the appointment of Dr. Manisha Srivastava.
Dr. Manisha Srivastava had been leading the institute as in-charge Director of BMHRC for nearly the past three years. She has now assumed charge as full-time Director.
On being selected for the responsibility of Director, Dr. Manisha Srivastava expressed gratitude to ICMR Director General Dr. Rajiv Bahl. She said patients coming to BMHRC would always remain her priority. Her effort would be to ensure that every patient receives better and excellent medical facilities at the hospital and that quality health services are provided to patients.
She said special attention would be given to further strengthening and expanding research activities at the institute. Under this, research would be encouraged whose findings can be taken beyond the laboratory and academic levels and used in actual patient care and health services. Through translational research, efforts would be made to take research findings into clinical practice and improve patient treatment and health outcomes.
Along with this, community-based research would be promoted to encourage studies based on the real health needs of the community and local-level health problems. Emphasis would be placed on linking hospital research with community needs and developing research models that can be used widely in health services.
She said establishing better coordination among patients’ needs, clinical experience and scientific research, and converting research into real health benefits, would remain among the institute’s priorities. Research and activities related to national health programmes would also be especially encouraged.
