Dr. Narendra Choudhary, Additional Professor and Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist at the institute, has been appointed as India’s Ambassador for the year 2024–25 by the Pediatric Oncology East and Mediterranean (POEM) Group. This prestigious recognition was conferred during the 4th Scientific Conference of POEM, held in Amman, Jordan.
The POEM Group is a network of doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals from 28 countries, dedicated to supporting children in their fight against cancer by providing medical, psychological, social, and economic assistance. Over 10 specialists from India participated in the conference, underscoring India’s active involvement in the initiative.
Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, Dr. Ajai Singh, hailed this achievement as a testament to the institute’s academic and clinical excellence. He stated that Dr. Choudhary’s accomplishment is not only a personal milestone but also a moment of pride for AIIMS Bhopal. This development enhances India’s role on the global stage in the field of cancer care.
