CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: DRA, one of Chennai’s prominent residential developers, has become the first developer from CREDAI Tamil Nadu to adopt the state’s presence-less property registration and e-sale deed services under the STAR 2.0 digital registration framework. The initiative represents an important step towards modernising property transactions and making the homebuying process more convenient, transparent and digitally enabled.
DRA established dedicated infrastructure at its head office and commenced the service on February 18, 2026. The system enables eligible homebuyers to complete property registration remotely, reducing the need for physical visits to Sub-Registrar Offices and eliminating dependence on fixed appointment slots and token-based processes.
The presence-less model also provides greater flexibility, allowing customers to complete registrations according to their schedules, including weekends, government holidays and personally significant or auspicious days. According to the company, digital workflows can strengthen documentation accuracy, standardisation and transparency while reducing manual coordination and physical dependencies.
DRA Managing Director Ranjeeth Rathod welcomed the Tamil Nadu government’s digital initiative and said the STAR framework could significantly modernise property transactions and improve convenience for homebuyers. The company has also worked with authorised partners, the Inspector General of Registration’s office and TCS to streamline implementation based on user experiences.
The development highlights how digital governance can transform traditionally paperwork-heavy real estate processes. As property transactions increasingly move towards secure digital platforms, initiatives such as STAR 2.0 could help make registration faster, more accessible and more customer-friendly while maintaining regulatory compliance and transparency.
