CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Safety is the top priority in railway operations.

With the aim of encouraging railway employees who have performed commendable work in the field of safety, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), West Central Railway, Bhopal, presented the “Safety Cash Award” to employees who demonstrated promptness, efficiency, and awareness in the field of safety from August to October 2025.

A total of 13 railway employees were honored during this period for preventing potential accidents in time, thereby ensuring the safety of railway property, trains, and passengers.

Awarded Employees from the Operations Department:

Laxman Kewat, Senior Goods Train Manager, Itarsi

On 25.08.2025, during the inspection of goods train KDAG, he found the door of the 13th wagon broken and immediately informed authorities, ensuring the wagon was detached from the load.

Abhishek Parsai, Senior Goods Train Manager, Bhopal

On 26.08.2025, while operating train no. 22165 Bhopal–Singrauli Express, he noticed smoke rising from coach H-01 and gave a danger hand signal. Investigation revealed fire in the RRU unit.

Rajkumar Purbia, Senior Goods Train Manager, Itarsi

On 08.09.2025, during inspection of an empty N-Box wagon at Goods PSSS Siding, he found a coupling defect and ensured the wagon was detached.

Virendra Kumar, Station Manager, Budni

On 19.09.2025, while train no. 12410 Hazrat Nizamuddin–Raigarh Express was passing, he noticed sparks and flames from a coach, stopped the train at Narmadapuram Station, and averted a potential accident.

Bharat Singh Kushwaha, Senior Passenger Train Manager, Guna

On 19.09.2025, between Ujjain–Maksi section, brake block jam caused a fire in train no. 12125. He extinguished the fire using a fire extinguisher and secured the coach.

Mayank Gupta, Deputy Station Manager, Salamatpur

Suraj Singh, Train Manager, Bhopal

On 22.09.2025, at Saurai Station, he noticed sparks in goods train KRKP and gave a danger hand signal. The train was stopped promptly.

Rahul Dubey, Deputy Station Manager, Nishatpura

On 11.10.2025, detected weld failure on track no. 214 and took immediate action to prevent an accident.

Shankar Lal Meena, Goods Train Manager, Itarsi

On 24.10.2025, during wagon inspection, he noticed trolley and spring shifting, and detached the wagon in time.

Anil Kushwaha, Gateman, Pabai

On 26.10.2025, noticed flames coming from the 8th wagon of goods train BIZ/NMG and gave a danger hand signal to safely stop the train.

Rajeev Pathak, Loco Pilot, Bhopal

On 14.10.2025, while operating train no. 12533 Lucknow–Mumbai Express, he noticed heavy flashing in the overhead wire, stopped the train immediately, and lowered the pantograph, averting a potential entanglement accident.

Dinesh Kumar, Trackman-II, Shivpuri

On 29.09.2025, at Shivpuri Railway Station, saved the life of an elderly woman who was sitting on the track in front of an approaching goods train by removing her in time.

Kailash Chand, Trackman-I, Khirkiya

On 26.10.2025, detected a crack in the rail weld at km 644/7–9 and stopped an approaching goods train, preventing a possible accident.

These railway employees have performed commendable duties by preventing serious accidents through their alertness, intelligence, and prompt action. Their efforts ensured the safety of passengers and protected railway property.

The railway administration appreciates their dedication, alertness, and commitment, encouraging them to continue serving with the same devotion in the future.

On this occasion, Divisional Railway Manager Pankaj Tyagi appreciated the enthusiasm, alertness, and dedication of the employees and extended his best wishes.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria emphasized that passenger safety remains the highest priority, and the railway employees are being provided with continuous training and resources to maintain it.
