CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Among the employees who averted possible railway accidents, Mangaldeen Kushwaha, Pointsman, Salamatpur, noticed an abnormal condition related to the engine while exchanging signals during the through passage of a goods train from Salamatpur station on July 15, 2026. Sensing the danger, he immediately gave a hand signal and stopped the train. On inspection, a brake block was found jammed, enabling necessary action to be taken in time.

Rohit Pawar, Goods Train Manager, Bina, conducted an immediate inspection on July 24, 2026, after receiving a complaint of smoke coming from coach S-2 when train number 14814 Bhopal-Jodhpur Express reached Salamatpur station. During the inspection, both brake pads of the coach were found stuck to the brake disc. He immediately took the necessary action, secured the braking system and ensured the train’s safe departure.

Piyush Kumar Singh, Mail Train Manager, Bina, while working on train number 11071 Kamayani Express on July 26, 2026, noticed a potential danger during the operation of a special train passing on the up line between Rani Kamlapati and Bhopal stations. Understanding the seriousness of the situation, he immediately informed the concerned train operation and control officials, ensuring that necessary action could be taken in time.

Amit Kumar, Deputy Station Manager, Pilighata, noticed an abnormal condition related to a wagon while inspecting a goods train passing through Pilighata station on August 22, 2026. He immediately took necessary action at the station level and got the train stopped at Shadhora station for examination. After inspection, necessary corrective action was taken and safe operations were ensured.

Samarjeet Rajput, Pointsman, Pilighata, noticed an approximately 02 mm deep line on the wheel of a goods train wagon standing at Pilighata station on August 10, 2026, and immediately informed the on-duty station manager. The station manager informed C&W Control through the relevant information and photographs, and instructions were issued to detach the wagon.

Jagdish Dharmadas, Senior Technician, Bhopal, detected a broken primary spring on the side position of a coach of train number 12754 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Nanded Express during a rolling-in examination on July 30, 2026. Due to his alertness, a possible technical danger in the coach was identified in time and necessary action was taken.

Ravi Jha, Senior Technician, Bina, detected a broken primary spring in a coach of train number 19166 Sabarmati Express while working under headquarters Bina on July 30, 2026. By identifying the technical fault in time, he made an important contribution to safe railway operations.

In the same sequence, Devendra Meena, Junior Engineer (C&W), Guna, during a rolling-in examination after engine number 39235 of train number 19167 Sabarmati Express arrived at platform number 02 of Guna station on August 14, 2026, noticed that the battery box was in a hanging condition because the bracket supporting it was heavily damaged. He immediately took the necessary action to secure the battery box and allowed the train to depart only after it had been properly secured.

Senior Divisional Safety Officer Ajit Singh, Senior Divisional Operations Manager Rohit Malviya and Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer/Coaching Ram Prakash Khare were present on the occasion of the safety awards. The officials praised the railway employees who identified potential dangers by showing exceptional alertness, responsibility and quick decision-making while on duty. They said safe railway operation is a collective responsibility and the vigilance of every railway employee plays an important role in preventing accidents.

The Bhopal division always encourages railway employees to remain alert while at work, follow prescribed safety rules and immediately inform the officials concerned about any abnormal situation.
