CNN Central News and Network–ITDC India ePress/ITDC News Bhopal: Five railway employees who showed outstanding vigilance, alertness and dedication to safety in rail operations were honoured with the Safety Award by Divisional Railway Manager Pankaj Tyagi for their notable contribution.

The employees who received the Safety Award included Sumendra Meena (Track Maintainer, Shivpuri), Satish Bakoria (Senior Goods Train Manager, Itarsi) and Ashish Parashar (Senior Goods Train Manager, Bina) from the Engineering Department, and Vinod Tiwari (Loco Pilot Mail, Bhopal) and Yashpal Sahu (Senior Assistant Loco Pilot, Bhopal) from the TRO Department.

During duty at Shivpuri station, Sumendra Meena demonstrated his efficiency by skillfully answering questions related to point operation and displaying excellent knowledge of points and safety rules.

During freight train operations, Satish Bakoria observed an abnormal condition in passing train No. 11058 Amritsar-Mumbai Express and, by informing authorities in time, played an important role in averting a possible accident. Following the required inspection, brake blocks were found jammed due to his alertness.

During goods train operations, Ashish Parashar informed station management that a wagon’s suspension coil spring was found missing. Owing to his alertness, the concerned wagon was detached at the station and necessary action was ensured.

Similarly, Loco Pilot (Mail) Vinod Tiwari and Senior Assistant Loco Pilot Yashpal Sahu, who were working on train No. 19483 Ahmedabad-Saharsa Express, noticed an abnormal condition on the track in time at kilometre 676/30 between the Narmadapuram-Budni rail section. They promptly controlled the train, informed the concerned staff and took necessary action to ensure safety. Their alertness helped avert a possible accident and kept rail operations safe.

Appreciating all the award-winning employees, Divisional Railway Manager Pankaj Tyagi said safety is the highest priority of the Railways and that the vigilance, efficiency and sense of duty of employees are the foundation of safe rail operations. He called upon all employees to continue working with the same alertness in future.

Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination) Ramendra Pandey, Senior Divisional Operations Manager Rohit Malviya, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer Sachin R. Sharma and other officers were present on the occasion.
