CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Textile Design Department of NIFT Bhopal organized a special eco-printing workshop under the NIFT Admission Awareness Initiative. The workshop saw active participation from various groups. Women from Barkheda Nathu village joined the session, along with seven students from the 8th grade of Riverton Valley School, Bhopal, and their teachers.

To make the program more impactful, Ms. Smita Bhardwaj, IAS, Commissioner of the MP Board of Secondary Education, Bhopal, and Mr. Akhil Sahai, Director of NIFT Bhopal, provided guidance and support, ensuring the sessions ran smoothly. The interactions were highly engaging and motivating. The village women expressed their interest in adopting eco-printing techniques to create small home products such as handkerchiefs and were eager to teach this method to other women in their community. Meanwhile, the Riverton Valley School students began brainstorming on innovative applications of eco-printing for creative projects.
Overall, the workshop was a successful blend of learning and experimentation, presenting eco-printing as an environmentally conscious and creatively enriching practice. It inspired participants to explore sustainable textile design in their surroundings while developing technical skills.
The workshop was successfully designed and conducted as part of a co-administration outreach program by the faculty and staff of NIFT Bhopal’s Textile Design Department.
