CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Raipur. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday carried out raids at several locations in Raipur and Durg in Chhattisgarh. In Raipur, officials examined documents at the residence of businessman Nitin Daga, while a search was also conducted at the premises of Gulshan Baghel in Durg. It has emerged that the investigation was continuing at both locations. However, detailed official information from the ED on the reasons for the action and the scope of the investigation is not currently available.

According to media reports, the ED team reached Nitin Daga’s residence at Sushil Villa in Ravi Nagar, in Raipur’s Pandri area, at around 4 am. Officials remained engaged in examining documents and related records there. Nitin Daga is said to be linked to the jewellery and land business. However, there has been no official confirmation on which case the action at his residence is related to.

Along with Raipur, ED action was also taken at the residence of Gulshan Baghel in Durg. Gulshan Baghel is said to be the founder of a company involved in construction, road construction and transport-related work. Initial reports have linked the action to a possible investigation into a matter connected with the Bharatmala project, but this connection has not been officially confirmed.

Gulshan Baghel’s name had earlier surfaced in an alleged cheating case. According to media reports, he had been accused of claiming to be the nephew of former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, assuring a woman that he could help her get a government job, and cheating her. No link has been confirmed between that older case and the current ED action.

At present, it is not clear which documents or other material were found during the raids, or whether anyone has been arrested. Clarity on the reasons for the action and possible financial irregularities will emerge only after official information from the ED is made public. The investigation is continuing, and no allegation can be treated as a final conclusion.
